I'm No Superman!
A Simple Reminder That None Of Us Are Meant To Do Life Alone
“I can’t do this all on my own.
No, I know… I’m no Superman.”
The show Scrubs is back after a long hiatus.
Which means one thing in my world.
A good old nostalgic binge.
There Are Lessons Everywhere.
One of the reasons I started The 1 Minute Read was to show that wisdom can come from anywhere… if you’re curious enough to look for it.
TV shows.
Movies.
Books.
Conversations.
Meetings.
I’ve got thousands of quotes saved from all kinds of places.
Scrubs is just the latest reminder.
Take the lyrics from the theme song:
“I can’t do this all on my own. No, I know… I’m no Superman.”
Simple.
But powerful.
Life is tough.
But it gets a lot tougher when you try to do it alone.
We all need people around us who make us better… who encourage us… who keep us grounded when things get difficult.
So here’s a quick exercise.
Think of three people in your life who’ve had a positive impact on you.
People who make you better just by being in your life.
Got them?
Good.
Now tell them.
Send a text.
Make a call.
Leave a voice note.
It can be as simple as:
“Hey, I was asked today to think of three people who’ve had a positive impact on my life. I thought of you. Just wanted to say thanks for being you.”
Do it today because tomorrow isn’t a guarantee.
Because here’s the truth:
None of us are Superman.
And the people who make life better deserve to know it.
